How much did God probably miss Jesus during those 33 years Jesus was on Earth, they were still in touch and it was probably hard for them to separate Father and Son, but they knew it was for a good reason and that Jesus was going back home after. It is probably a lot harder for God to cse so many of His loved children separated from Him, not being in touch , not obeying.
He loves us so much and that is what we should do too, go back to the Father's house.
