Day 171 - In the desert

So many people in the Bible found themselves in situations just as Jesus was while in the desert. There are times, and Im just experiencing that, that we feel like God has left us on our own to make our own decisions and judgements, and it is hard, because just as Jesus had to face the enemy, we also do. Job for example, left alone, everything taken away from him, it would be so easy for him to fall for the enemy's lies and stop trusting God.

Jonah, Moses, Abraham, Jesus, you, me, the pastors at church. We all face that and God of course does that according to His plans. I'm not sure what His intentions are, if it's to expose our faith to real challenges, to test us, to make us stronger, all of the above. All I am really sure about is He knows what He is doing and He only does good.

"And the woman went in flight to the waste land, where she has a place made ready by God, so that there they may give her food a thousand, two hundred and sixty days." Revelation 12:6

And God also sends us away from places, people or situations, or even from Himself as a way to keep us safe. I've had moments when it felt like God was far, but it was only because He wanted me to seek more and bring myself closer to Him.

The same way the jewellery maker keeps the metal on fire until he can see his own reflection on it, and it's the same way we notice that the best pearls are made when the oyster feels attacked and under pressure.

We must persevere, hang in there, until the sun is shinning again.

"For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things. To him be the glory for ever. Amen."

Muitas pessoas na Bíblia encontraram-se em situações assim como Jesus encontrou-se no deserto. Há momentos, e eu estou experimentando isso, que nós sentimos como se Deus tivesse nos deixado por conta própria para tomarmos nossas próprias decisões e julgamentos, e é difícil, porque assim como Jesus teve que enfrentar o inimigo, nós também somos tentados. Jó, por exemplo, foi deixado sozinho, tudo tirado dele, seria muito fácil para ele cair nas mentiras do inimigo e parar de confiar em Deus.


Jonas, Moisés, Abraão, Jesus, você, eu, os pastores na igreja. Todos nós enfrentamos tudo isso, e Deus o permite de acordo com Seus planos. Eu não tenho certeza do que suas intenções são, se é para expor nossa fé para desafios, para nos testar, para nos tornar mais fortes, ou todas as opoções juntas. Tudo o que eu estou realmente certa é que Ele sabe o que está fazendo e Ele só faz o bem.

"E a mulher fugiu para o deserto, onde já tinha lugar preparado por Deus, para que ali fosse alimentada durante mil duzentos e sessenta dias." Apocalipse 12:6

E Deus também envia-nos para longe de lugares, pessoas ou situações, ou mesmo de Si mesmo como uma forma de nos manter seguros. Eu tive momentos em que senti que Deus estava longe, mas foi só porque Ele queria que eu o procurasse mais e me colocasse para mais perto Dele.

Da mesma forma que o ourives mantém o metal no fogo até que ele possa ver seu próprio reflexo nele, assim faz Deus da mesma forma, notamos também que as melhor perolas são feitas quando a ostra se sente atacada e sob pressão.

Devemos perseverar, aguentar, até que o sol eteja brilhando novamente.
