Day 332 - The other side of sin

I had an insight today about sin.
Of course everybody knows that sin is what separates us from God. But in a way one who sins will always know that he or she is far from being as good as God and that compels us to seek Jesus and His righteousness.
Imagine a world without sin: no idolatry, no lies, no stealing, no adultery, no murders, no lust, no covet, no selfishness, and so on.
In that scenario nobody needs God, why would a perfect being need another perfect being?
Neither we would have a purpose nor God, because we wouldn't be able to repent, to become humble, to change our ways, to realize we are nothing without God, it is sin what separates us from God but it is also what causes us to need God. God would also not have a purpose in that case, because He would have no chance to be merciful, to be forgiving, as there would be nothing to be forgiven and there would be no need for mercy because there would be no mistakes.

Sin is something that makes me think there is no escape for humanity. There is a scape of course and that's God, but what I mean by that is there is nothing we can do to change ourselves. No one changes because of our nature, our nature destroys us, it is only the power of God that makes us change. It's through love, forgiveness, mercy and Grace that we change, not by our own strength. There is a power beyond our capacity and that is the power of God.

So, what I wanted to say about sin is that, realizing that I am a sinner draws me a lot closer to God. When I feel that I am strong, and then I stop watching out, that's when I make mistakes, but when I am scared and try to be careful with everything I do because I am afraid I will sin, that's when God helps me and so I can overcome my flaws.
