Some of the trees around us are hundreds of years old. The oldest living tree has been spotted by scientists as 9,550 years old. That's a lot. That tree saw summers and winters, saw people killing each other, saw Jesus coming, saw the wars and the centuries go by. That tree is still alive today, and if it could talk it would say "how silly those humans, generations go by and they are still stuck". The truth is, if those scientists are right and the tree is as old as they say, we can realize that God can make us live as long as He wants us to be here, if He wanted us to live 100, 200, 1,000 years, He certainly would.
This makes me think how temporary all this life is, and how short it is.
I guess God keeps us here only for a short time because He wants to keep us moving under pressure, if we had 1,000 years to learn and correct our mistakes, boy we would never learn!
In some way, He is saying 'you only have this much time, move quick, change, repent and live for me, before it's too late'.
It's funny how our lives have become disposable. Our goods, our friends, sometimes even people spouses are disposable. We have such a short time to live, why waste it with superficial things? Our Father knows all our needs, why spend our lives running after wants and desires like rats racing nowhere?
Why waste life being depressed and grumpy? People....sigh...I hope one day we will brake through and reach the end of the silly cycle we put ourselves in.
Lucky there is Jesus, our shield of strength, our shelter, our stronghold, our only HOPE.
